Raila Odinga: Mzee Moi made mistakes, I forgive him

Former Prime Minister Raila has now publicly forgave the late Mzee Daniel Moi for illegally detaining him during the struggle of having Multi party nation.

Speaking during the Requiem Mass held at Nyayo Stadium on Tuesday, Raila who doubles as the African Union (AU) Infrastructure Representative noted that despite Moi making some mistakes that saw him suffer,he had decided to bury the hate.

"He was human...Moi made some mistakes. If or example was one of the victims. But, hew as also forgiving, like I am forgiving," he said.

He further divulged that his positive relationship with Moi saw the country having a new constitution which made the country a peaceful state.

"We made our peace, shook hands and
worked together to bring this country a new Constitution," he added.

Raila Odinga was accused of masterminding the 1982 failed coup whereby he pleaded not guilty in a treason charge.

During the fight against one party nation,Raila was also sought by Moi's government whereby he escaped to hide in Norway.

Since then ,the ODM leader has been in the forefront in ensuring that there is democracy in the country.
