DP Ruto, Gedion Moi twist muscles over Rift Valley region control

DP William Ruto shaking hands with Baringo Senator Gedion Moi.

The battle for Rift Valley region political control is now upon Deputy President William Ruto and his Baringo counterpart Gedion Moi.

According to political punters, the burial ceremony of Mzee Daniel Arap Moi at Kabarak on Wednesday that saw Gedion Moi awarded the Fimbo Ya Nyayo has now caused political cold in Ruto's camp.

The two who are definitely reading from different political scripts are poised to either unite or break the region.

DP Ruto who enjoys huge mass following from not only the region but Kenya as a whole has declared his ambitions to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta and this has not gone well with Gedion Moi who has been rumoured to be also interested in the job, however he is yet to officially declare.

With Moi given the iconic Rungu,it will not be business as usual. DP Ruto should either seek political alliance with Gedion Moi or 'secure' other regions' support towards his 2022 political journey.

Gedion Moi is currently under the control of some legislators who they have been termed rejects, they have openly declare not to support Ruto's quest for Presidency. The group is led by Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter,Moiben MP Silas Tiren among others.

However, as facts speaks,Ruto is still the Kingpin in the region inspite of KANU's influence.Ruto is currently supported by a larger percentage of leaders from the region.

Ruto's camp as been called TangaTanga.Their Hustler Nation narrative has also did well.
