Joseph Irungu alias Jowie accused in the murder of business woman Monicah Kimani has been released on Ksh2M bail.

Jowie who has been in remand for a close to 2 years was on Thursday released by Milimani Law court and ordered not to comment on his case.

However, much attention has been drawn to the recent remarks made by ODM leader Raila Odinga during the burial of Mzee Daniel Arap Moi on Wednesday.

During the burial ceremony, Raila while bidding fare well Mzee Moi made some statements that a section of Kenyans have connected to the recent release of Jowie.

As a norm, while undertaking his rituals using a black fly whisk,Raila Odinga said ''Jowi! Jowi! Jowi! '' as he was concluding his final say  during the Kabarak send off.

This publication can ,however report authoritatively that Raila's statement never influenced the release of Jowie.Jowie's case was under court which is supreme and statements made by individuals outside the court cannot influence the court's decision.

Jowie had been accused together with TV personality Jacquie Maribe.
