Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta to work on saving Kenya's economy at the end of his tenure.

In a post on his Twitter account, Murkomen who doubles as the Majority Leader warned Uhuru that his legacy will be based on the state of economy he will be leaving behind.

He has since offered to spiritually intercede for the President to realize the record.

''My wishes , prayers and dreams is that by the time President Kenyatta retires our economy will have achieved double digit growth and unemployment will be all time low. If the President can achieve the above  in the remainder of his term then he will leave behind a great legacy,''read Murkomen's tweet.

Murkomen is a close ally to DP William Ruto whose relationship with President Uhuru has been termed to 'coming to an end'.

This came after Uhuru came up with BBI together with his political nemesis turned brother,ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga.
