Deputy President William Ruto has revealed how his political relationship with the late Daniel Moi ended prematurely in 2005.
According to Ruto, his declaration to vie for Presidency was like an insult to Moi who was not of the idea.
''I declared to vie for the Presidency post when we had a meeting in Eldama Ravine in 2005 and Mzee was not of the idea.He was proposing either Henry Kosgei or Biwott among others,''Ruto told a local daily.
However, the second in command noted that despite not politically reading from the same script with Moi,he still respected him.
''Moi is a mentor to many of us politically and I respected him because of his fatherly figure,''added Ruto.
Moi will be laid to rest on 12th February.
